Enema

An enema involves the injection of fluid into the rectum. Lukewarm is used and enema can nozzle is lubricated with oil and then inserted into the rectum. One to two litres of water is allowed to enter into the rectum.

A warm water enema helps to clean the rectum of accumulated faecal matter. It is the safest system for cleaning the bowels and it improves peristaltic movement thereby relieves constipation.

Cold water enema is helpful in cases of diarrhea, dysentery, ulcerative colitis, haemorrhoids and fever.
